TriBoard Session Set for Monday as Sharon Readies Cleanup and Flag Day
The town's three principal governing bodies are set to sit together Monday in a joint TriBoard session, while a packed stretch of community activity — a lake cleanup, a Flag Day ceremony, and FIFA World Cup guidance from Town Hall — marks the close of the week.
TOWN HALL
Town Hall has posted guidance for residents on what the FIFA World Cup means for Sharon, as the regional tournament draw continues to generate questions about local impacts and traffic. The town is also pointing residents toward two back-to-back weekend events: the annual Lake Massapoag Cleanup takes place Saturday, June 13, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, with community volunteers welcome to join. The Flag Day Ceremony follows Sunday, June 14, at Veterans' Memorial Park.
Monday, June 15, shapes up as a heavy governance day: the Select Board, Finance Committee, and School Committee meet jointly in a TriBoard session, one of the more consequential shared forums on the town calendar. Also on Monday: the Municipal Solar Oversight Committee, the Cultural Council, and the Council on Aging each hold separate meetings.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
Visitors to the Sharon Public Library should plan ahead for reduced parking. Solar panels are being installed on the library's roof, a project that got underway Thursday, June 11, and is expected to limit available spots for the near term. The library flagged the situation on its homepage and website banner. Regular hours remain unchanged — Monday through Saturday with a 10 a.m. opening — so patrons should simply allow extra time to find a space.
