Sharon Wins $250,000 State Grant to Upgrade Town Digital Infrastructure
Sharon is receiving $250,000 in state money to upgrade its digital infrastructure, the most substantive piece of new public business on a Sunday that rolls into one of the town's fuller meeting evenings of the month.

The Healey-Driscoll Administration has awarded Sharon $250,000 through the Community Compact Cabinet's Municipal Fiber Grant Program, part of $10.1 million distributed across Massachusetts municipalities. The grant is intended to fund digital infrastructure upgrades, though the town has not yet detailed which systems the funds will address.
Town Hall has also issued guidance for residents on the FIFA World Cup, which is drawing significant regional and international traffic to greater Boston this summer. Residents can find the advisory at townofsharon.net.
Monday, June 15 is a dense meeting night: the Select Board, Finance Committee, and School Committee convene in a joint TriBoard session; the Municipal Solar Oversight Committee holds its regular meeting; and the Cultural Council gathers as well. The Council on Aging also meets that day.

The Sharon Public Library is hosting a free community screening and discussion of Shuffle, a documentary focused on addiction treatment centers, on Monday, June 15 at 6:15 p.m. at 1 School St. The event is open to all.
Visitors to the library this week should plan for limited parking while rooftop solar panel installation — underway since June 11 — continues.
