Sharon Sets Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off for Saturday, June 27
Sharon residents have two pieces of practical municipal news to act on this week: a Household Hazardous Waste collection day is set for Saturday, and the town's annual water quality report is now online for public review.
TOWN HALL
The town announced that Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Department of Public Works, 217R S. Main St. Residents can bring paints, solvents, pesticides, and other hazardous household materials for safe disposal — a service that keeps those items out of the waste stream and protects local water supplies.
On the water front, the town's 2025 Water Quality Report is now available online at sharonma.gov. The system it covers is substantial: six groundwater supply wells and pumping stations, four water storage tanks, and roughly 120 miles of water mains serving the community. Residents can review the full report at https://www.sharonma.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?aid=120.
The Health Department continues to collect food and essential household items to support local food pantries, helping residents who may be facing hardship. Donations can be dropped off at Town Hall.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Sharon Public Library noted that parking on-site remains limited while solar panels are being installed on the roof. Patrons are encouraged to plan ahead or allow extra time when visiting 1 School St. The library will also close early on Friday, July 3 at 2 p.m. and remain closed Saturday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
