The Town of Sharon Water Division announced it will flush a water main Thursday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The work is in preparation for the new Water Treatment Plant coming online.

The flushing covers Section 1, which includes the Moose Hill Parkway and Upland Road area. The town attached a map of the section to its announcement.

Residents may notice temporary discolored or cloudy water and minor fluctuations in water pressure. The town says this is normal and temporary.

If water is discolored, the town advises residents not to run water while crews are actively working in their area. Wait about two hours after crews have left, then run cold water from the faucet closest to the water meter until the water clears. The town also asks residents to check their water for discoloration before doing laundry.

Iron Out packets, which the town says should remove stains from clothing discolored by the water, are available at the DPW Office, 217 Rear South Main St.

For questions, call 781-784-1525 ext. 2315 or email afraone@sharonma.gov.

The new Water Treatment Plant is being built at the current site of Well Station Number 4 on Tree Lane. The town says the facility will address polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), as well as manganese and iron.
