Water Management Advisory Committee · Meeting of August 20, 2026
SHARON — Water committee kept drought watering rules as conditions improved to mild status. The Water Management Advisory Committee voted unanimously August 20 to approve June minutes and decided to maintain its one-handheld-hose watering restriction before 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m., even as the southeast region's drought eased from level two to level one. DPW Superintendent Eric Hooper reported the Drought Management Task Force will meet to assess Sharon-specific conditions.
The committee heard that the new water treatment plant construction remains on schedule for November completion but is blocked from startup testing by an Eversource power-upgrade issue.
