Sharon Travel Basketball Association's tryout registration numbers show boys' signups outpacing girls' in every grade, and Sharon Youth Lacrosse set an October date for a newcomers' clinic.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- The Sharon Travel Basketball Association, home of the Sharon Eagles, posted tryout registration totals by grade as of September 11 on its website: 14 fourth grade boys, 21 fifth grade boys, 34 sixth grade boys, 29 seventh grade boys and 32 eighth grade boys registered for tryouts. On the girls' side, the site listed 12 fourth graders, 14 fifth graders, 14 sixth graders, 14 seventh graders and 6 eighth graders registered.

Sharon Youth Lacrosse's website lists a "Try Lax" session for new players on October 18, along with a Fall Scoops Lacrosse Clinic for ages 3 to 7, according to the K-8th grade boys' and girls' program's site.
