Sharon To Close Walpole Street Sunday Night For Bridge Work

SHARON — Sharon's Department of Public Works will fully close South Walpole Street to traffic in both directions this Sunday night so crews can pour concrete for a bridge substructure, the town announced this week, in the most concrete piece of town business surfacing ahead of the long Labor Day weekend.

TOWN HALL The full detour covers both directions of the South Walpole Street work zone and runs from 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, until 5 a.m. Monday, according to a notice posted on the town's website. Crews will use the overnight window to place concrete for the bridge substructure, and drivers who normally use that stretch should plan an alternate route for the night.
