Sharon Marketplace Lot to Close for Repaving Starting July 19
SHARON — The parking lot at Sharon Marketplace on South Main Street is set to close for a five-day repaving job starting Saturday, and Sharon Police are lining up two summer safety initiatives — an Aug. 1 safety fair and the town's 18th annual Junior Police Academy — as officials look toward the rest of the summer.

The Sharon Marketplace parking lot at 700 South Main St. will be milled and repaved starting Sunday, July 19, and continuing through Thursday, July 23, weather permitting, according to the town. Shoppers and tenants at the retail plaza should expect the lot to be unavailable during that window.
Separately, the Norfolk County Sheriff's Office and the Sharon Police Department announced they will host the annual Summer Safety Fest on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Crescent Ridge. The Sharon Police Department is also seeking applications for its 18th annual Junior Police Academy, scheduled for Aug. 3-8.

Sharon Public Library patrons should plan for limited parking at the library while a solar panel installation is underway on the building's roof, the library said. The project is part of a broader push to add solar generation to town facilities; a completion date was not specified.
