Sharon's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee unanimously approved March and April meeting minutes and discussed multiple community initiatives. Committee Chair Jennifer Illuzzi reported that budgeted costs for a DEI-sponsored Juneteenth celebration exceeded current needs, prompting discussion of fund reallocation before fiscal year end. Christopher Dumais, Sharon Police Department Liaison, expressed hope to revive the Community Round Table following weather-related cancellations and sought community feedback on police engagement strategies.
The committee agreed that Illuzzi and member Jillian Jennett would lead a working group to update the town's DEI website page, and members committed to outreach assignments through the Discover Series matrix of prospective communities.
