Sharon Substance Prevention and Resource Coalition unanimously supports funding request for online referral platform. The group voted to back Linda Callan's appeal to the town for $18,000 in annual funding for Caresolace, a 24-hour anonymous referral service designed to replace the discontinued Interface platform. A community survey of 146 respondents conducted from mid-January through mid-February identified anxiety as the primary health concern and vaping and alcohol as the leading substance issues; however, the survey failed to reach younger residents, with zero respondents under 18 and only four in the 18-30 age range.
Callan is also advancing a Drug Free Community Grant application due in April, which requires representation from parents, media, school, youth, service providers, religious organizations, law enforcement, civic groups, healthcare, and state representatives with substance use expertise.
