Sharon Announces Early, Mail Voting Ahead Of Sept. 1 Primary
Sharon voters have more than two weeks to request an early or mail ballot before the Sept. 1 state primary, according to a town announcement this week. The news comes alongside a weather-related postponement of paving work at Veterans Memorial Park Beach and confirmation that a new solar canopy project will break ground on Pond Street next month.
TOWN HALL
Sharon election officials are reminding voters that the state primary is Tuesday, Sept. 1, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sharon High School gymnasium. Residents who want to vote early or by mail can find instructions through the town's website, according to a notice posted this week.
Construction on a new solar canopy in the Pond Street parking lot is set to begin in early September, the town announced. The project will add solar generation capacity above the municipal lot once work gets underway.
Paving of the west side of the Veterans Memorial Park Beach parking lot, originally scheduled for Monday, Aug. 17, was postponed because of weather, the town said in an update. A new date had not been announced as of Tuesday.
