Select Board tightens overnight parking rules to specify boats and trailers.

Select Board · Meeting of April 28, 2026

SHARON — Select Board unanimously clarifies overnight street parking ban to explicitly include boats and trailers. Chair Kiana Baskin, members Hanna Switlekowski, Xander Shapiro, Pasqualino Pannone, and Sam Liao approved amendments to Section 5-1 General Prohibitions, with Town Administrator Frederic E. Turkington, Jr. confirming police will enforce fairly and announce implementation ahead of time.

The board also voted unanimously to indefinitely postpone Article 11 on emergency winter parking bans, with Mr. Turkington noting a summer public hearing will address winter parking through a separate traffic rule process. In a third unanimous vote, the board reduced the Library Reuse Committee from seven to five members, appointing replacements from the Historic Commission and Economic Development Committee to accelerate review of two proposals for the Carnegie library building by June 30.
