SHARON — The Select Board declined to recommend for or against a citizen petition seeking no-confidence votes on five School Committee members. Chair Xander Shapiro noted the board received 26 public comments on the controversial warrant article and decided to remain neutral. The board approved a revised flag policy for the Sharon Speech Center on a 4-1 vote, with Hanna Switlekowski opposed, after Sam Liao's amendment regarding foreign flags failed 2-3.
Unanimously approving an alcohol license amendment for Mick Morgan's Irish Pub and Restaurant, the board cleared expansion of its function room from 40 to 104 seats. Town Administrator Frederic Turkington briefed the board on planning for the February 2027 retirement of DPW Superintendent Eric Hooper.
