SHARON — Select Board defers flag policy revisions pending further legal refinement. Chair Xander Shapiro and Town Administrator Frederic Turkington guided the board through revisions tied to the 2022 Shurtliff Supreme Court decision, with Member Sam Liao requesting narrower language restricting flags to U.S. states, countries, and territories. The board approved a consent calendar unanimously, including the appointment of Anthony Cadogan as police officer and the Rosh Hashana Shofar blowing event at Lake Massapoag on September 13.

Turkington reported that Sharon's Subsidized Housing Inventory stands at 10.71 percent, exceeding the state's 10 percent threshold by 46 units and protecting the town from 40B proposals pending the 2030 Census.
