SHARON — Planning Board continues mosque hearing, hires design consultant. The board voted 5-0-0 to continue the public hearing on the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Center Minor Site Plan Review to July 23, citing outstanding questions about parking adequacy, fire access, and septic design for a 256-worshipper facility on a 2.854-acre parcel at 414 North Main Street and adjacent properties; Deputy Fire Chief Dan Greenfield flagged concerns that a single-entry driveway would restrict emergency apparatus access. In a separate matter, the board voted unanimously to engage Innes Land Strategies Group for $99,000 to revise the town's 30-year-old Post Office Square design guidelines and recommend enforceable zoning changes, drawing on $13,000 from 2026 appropriations and $86,000 from the Kendall Trust.
