SHARON — Planning Board reviews zoning priorities for downtown Business A district. The Board approved prior minutes 3-0-1 and spent the meeting discussing whether to hire a professional consultant to formalize Design Guidelines and zoning changes for PO Square, with Chair Robert Maidman directing Assistant Town Engineer Sonal Pai to identify firms and draft a request for proposals. The town has $25,000 available from Town Meeting and Maidman said costs below $50,000 avoid lowest-bid requirements.

Member Alex Schneiderman volunteered to research grant funding, including the Mass Downtown Capital Initiative Program due June 3, while Vice Chair Oanh T. Nguyen emphasized the economic importance of a vibrant downtown with more commercial stores.
