Flash Flood Watch Issued for Sharon Amid Heavy Rain Forecast

SHARON — A flash flood watch was in effect for parts of Massachusetts, including Sharon, as forecasters warned of potentially dangerous downpours moving through the region, while town officials continued work on the Tree Lane water treatment plant construction closure.

Tree Lane remains closed to both vehicles and pedestrians during ongoing construction activity at the town's Water Treatment Plant, according to a town announcement. Officials reiterated the closure applies fully — foot traffic is not permitted through the work zone even when vehicle traffic might appear light.

The Norfolk County Sheriff's Office and Sharon Police Department are finalizing plans for the annual Summer Safety Fest, set for Saturday, Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Crescent Ridge.
