Finance Committee · Meeting of June 29, 2026
Sharon Finance Committee approves $428,000 in reserve fund transfers. Chair Donald Brichta and members voted unanimously to authorize emergency allocations including $249,120 for Department of Public Works snow removal, $180,000 for Fire Department overtime, and smaller amounts for Information Technology, Unemployment Insurance, and Norfolk County Agricultural High School. The committee also unanimously authorized Town Administrator Fred Turkington and Finance Director Krishan Gupta to transfer approximately $499,000 between departmental budgets to address mid-year shortfalls in Street Lights, Veterans' Benefits, and Information Technology, offset by surpluses in Town Counsel, debt service, and the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Chris Pimentel was elected Finance Committee Clerk, and a three-member subcommittee chaired by Phillip King was established to review compensation for the Town Clerk, Board of Assessors, and Select Board and to examine whether the Town Clerk position should remain elected or become appointed, with findings due by November.
