Economic Development Committee · Meeting of June 1, 2026

Sharon's Economic Development Committee approved prior meeting minutes and discussed downtown planning priorities. Chair Hy Waxman reported his appointment to the Library Re-Use Committee, with David Straus as alternate, as the Select Board begins a 30-day due diligence phase on condo and daycare proposals. The Business Brainstorming Group held its inaugural meeting and will convene monthly, with Vice Chair Shana Seidenberg and Waxman guiding creation of a business directory and town website component.

Member Robert Maidman noted the sold Sharon Mart property will become a convenience store and flagged the Planning Board's interest in updating Design Guidelines in response to state housing requirements, with the Mandarin Taste property identified as a potential mixed-use development site.
