Diversity panel approves strategic plan, discusses Autism Awareness

Sharon's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee unanimously approved its Strategic Plan following minor amendments during an April 9 Zoom meeting. Chair Jennifer Illuzzi, moving the vote with eight members present, accommodated the meeting time for Passover observance. Matthew Zinno spoke about Autism Awareness Month and related neurodiversity issues; public commenter Judy Crosby raised questions about the committee's 2020 interaction with the School Committee.
Due to time constraints, unaddressed agenda items including the Discover Series template, website redesign discussion, and districtwide multicultural night updates were moved to the May 14 meeting.
