Council on Aging Board OKs March minutes, hears jail diversion crisis work

SHARON — The Sharon Council on Aging Advisory Board unanimously accepted its March meeting minutes and heard from Victoria Palmisano, a Crisis Clinician with the Jail Diversion Program, who works three days weekly with Sharon Police and two days with Westwood Police to support residents in mental crises. Executive Director Kaitlyn Thibeault reported a new partnership with Sturdy Hospital for summer educational presentations, record attendance of 60 at the Lakeside Gallery reception, and 272 transportation rides provided in March--48 medical and 224 shopping and event trips. The board is planning a chess tournament pairing high school students with seniors and collaborating with the Library on accessibility improvements.
