Commission on Disabilities · Meeting of June 25, 2026

SHARON — The Sharon Commission on Disabilities backed a letter supporting expanded fishing access at Lake Massapoag. Chair Paul Remy and six members voted unanimously to recommend action to town administration and the Select Board after resident Todd Arnold described the current accessibility as extremely limited. The commission also reported that Town Administrator Fred Turkington submitted a $60,000 grant application for a comprehensive ADA self-evaluation, the town's first since 1993.

Community Beach ramps are being repaired and a handicapped parking space is nearing completion; Memorial Beach bathrooms will be fully accessible after summer. The commission holds $16,679.97 in combined funds and reconvenes August 27.
