SHARON — Board of Health approves chicken variance and sets 2026 calendar. Chair Hope Klassman, Chuck Levine, and Michael Blackowicz unanimously approved a variance allowing up to 10 chickens at 37 Brook Road and set nine meeting dates throughout 2026. Septic Inspector Kevin Davis briefed the Board on six ongoing developments, including Edge Hill Road Subdivision (awaiting revised plans), 299-303 North Main Street (septic installations underway), and Cumberland Farms (pending state approval).

Health Department Director Linda Callan announced an internship application with Bristol Norfolk Public Health Partners and is applying for a $2 million Sturdy Hospital shared services grant to fund a full-time social worker and $20,000 for resident transportation assistance. Community Health Nurse Carly Malvesti reported that 53.1 percent of Sharon residents have received flu vaccination as of January 21.
